TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of Petro Stopping Centers® branded travel centers, has announced it will hold a “40-Day Celebration” from April 22 to May 31, 2015, at all Petro locations, to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Petro Stopping Centers and Iron Skillet® Restaurants.

On April 22, 1975, Petro was founded in El Paso, Texas as a premier full-service truck stop. It later extended across the southwest part of the country before expanding nationwide and then acquired by TravelCenters of America in May 2007.

“A lot has changed since 1975 when Petro began, but our homestyle cooking and fast and friendly service hasn’t,” said Tom O’Brien, President and CEO of TravelCenters. “We want to celebrate the past 40 years by giving back to professional drivers who give so much each day on the road.”

On April 22, one UltraONE Member who swipes at the kiosk will be randomly selected at each Petro location to win 4,000 UltraONE Points.

Additionally, every day from April 22 to May 31, at each Petro location, UltraONE and UltraONE Expediter Members who swipe their card at a Petro location kiosk will be randomly selected to win one of a variety of Travel Store, Full-Service Restaurant and Truck Service prizes.

Further, every Tuesday from April 22 to May 3, at each Petro:Lube location, all members of UltraONE will receive 1,000 UltraONE Points for each new tire purchased.

Petro Iron Skillet restaurants have been consistently “Voted Best” by professional truck drivers for many years. Iron Skillet is known for the best buffets, breakfasts and a wide assortment of great tasting comfort food. Iron Skillet restaurants will celebrate by offering diners complimentary birthday cake and, while supplies last, commemorative pins.
