A federal appeals court is poised to take up a long-running dispute about whether the Seminole Tribe of Florida should have to pay state taxes on gasoline it uses on tribal lands, reports the News Service of Florida.

State and federal courts have backed the Florida Department of Revenue in the dispute, which involves vehicles filling up at gas stations off Seminole property but using the fuel on tribal lands, reports Jim Saunders of the News Service. The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments Dec. 10 in Miami, as the tribe seeks to overturn the dismissal of a case in a lower federal court.
