The Vermont Fuel Assistance Program had not released terms for the upcoming heating season as of Aug. 23, reports the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association (VFDA) in its Fuel Line Newsletter issued on that date.
Earlier in the week, fuel assistance chief Richard Moffi indicated to VFDA that a draft agreement was near completion, Fuel Line reports.
According to state law, the Vermont Secretary of Human Services is required to adopt a “revised system of fuel purchasing” by August 1, 2013. The deadline was inserted into the law at the request of VFDA, so that fuel dealers would have ample time to determine whether or not to participate, Fuel Line notes.
