Industry Veteran Phil Korosec Retiring from MCC

MidContinental Chemical Company, Inc. (MCC) announces that Phil Korosec, Technical Director, is set to retire on December 31, 2017. Korosec has had an exceptional 55+ year career in the chemicals industry, spending the last 12 years leading the MCC technical team.

During his time with MCC, Korosec was responsible for technical direction, formulations and customer technical support for both fuel and lubricant additives.

“While I am sad to leave MCC, I am confident that our customers are in great hands with my successor, Dr. Bernard Roell,” says Korosec, “We have followed many of the same paths throughout our careers, and he is an accomplished professional in our industry.”

Roell brings with him more than twenty years of extensive experience in management and support in the Specialty Chemical Industry. Most recently, Roell was the
Vice President of Research and Development for RSC Bio Solutions, a provider of lubricants, cleaners, absorbents, gear oil, greases for the marine, offshore oil and gas, utility fleets, waste management, energy and turf industries.

Roell holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Ohio University, as well as a BS in Chemistry and a BA in Mathematics from Lock Haven University. He is actively involved with STLE (Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers) and the American Chemical Society. Roell holds multiple US and International patents, and has had many papers published.

Korosec and Dr. Roell have been working closely together to ensure the smoothest transition possible following his retirement date.

 

District Sales Manager Ray Sparling Retiring from MCC

Ray Sparling, District Sales Manager, is set to retire on December 31, 2017. Sparling has been a part of the MCC team for 10 years.

Sparling started his MCC career path in mid-2007 as District Sales Manager for the west region of the United States. Ray played a key role in developing effective strategies and tactics to expand both the fuel and lubricant additive sales in the region.

“Ray has been a valuable member of the District Sales Manager team since mid-2007, leading the growth efforts of District 3 and providing valuable input and energy as we’ve continued our evolution as a sales organization,” says Gary Lackore, National Sales Manager, “Ray brought with him a wealth of experience that benefited MCC in so many ways. We will certainly miss Ray, his professionalism, work ethic, industry knowledge, dedication, passion and friendship.”

Sparling will be succeeded in his position by Jeff Davidson, who was previously in the role of Area Sales Manager.

Davidson will play a key role in developing effective strategies and tactics to expand both the fuel and lubricant additive sales in the region. Davidson has eleven years of experience in the finished lubricants and fuel additives industry. He started his MCC career in June of 2006 as a Territory Sales Manager, working quickly into the
role of Area Sales Manager.

“Jeff became a contributor to MCC’s success in a very short time after joining MCC. As such, Jeff was promoted to the position of Area Sales Manager, in which he was responsible for his sales territory and that of another sales person (or two),” said Gary Lackore, MCC’s National Sales Manager, “Jeff has been groomed to step into a District Manager position wherein he will play an instrumental role in accelerating the growth in his district. We are very pleased that we have Jeff on our sales team and confident that he will lead his team successfully.”

Sparling and Davidson have been working closely together to ensure a smooth transition.
