The owner of a BP gas station in Algonquin, Ill., wanted to display gas prices in green LED lights, but the village allowed only red and amber-colored lights.
So Ratilal Patel asked the village to change the code, and the board agreed to do just that, reports The Daily Herald. Patel had originally applied for a sign permit in October that would use green LED lights and Algonquin initially stuck by the code and turned him down, reports Lenore T. Adkins of The Daily Herald.
