Recently, PMAA President Dan Gilligan received the 2015 Virginia Oilman of the Year Award at the Virginia Petroleum Convenience and Grocery Association’s 67th Annual Meeting at the Homestead Resort. Gilligan has been the President of PMAA since 1998 and will retire next month after serving as adviser to PMAA’s new President Rob Underwood. During introductory remarks, 2014 Oilman of the Year Jack Woodfin of Woodfin Oil Company noted that Gilligan’s tenure brought about a renaissance at PMAA, including a remarkable financial turnaround and a stronger federation of state associations so important to the success of PMAA’s advocacy efforts. After being presented with the traditional Waterford clock, Gilligan noted in his acceptance remarks that his first state association meeting as PMAA President was in Virginia at Wintergreen, and he was pleased to make his last one in his longtime home state of Virginia as well.
