Chevron Products Company, a Chevron U.S.A. Inc. division, maker of the Delo® brand of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and coolants, launched its Delo Game Changers campaign and Road Trip, which spotlights the transition to the new significantly advanced API CK-4 and FA-4 heavy-duty engine oils (HDEO) that were launched last year.

The campaign highlights historical and modern-day innovations that have spurred the industry forward, and features visionaries that have challenged the status quo in their respective industries. The road trip will recognize individuals across the country who are forging innovative paths in the agriculture, trucking and construction industries.

“Ever since World War II, when Chevron created the first compound diesel engine oil to help U.S. submarines stay at sea more than three times longer than they could have with straight mineral oils, Chevron has been an industry game changer,” said Rommel Atienza, Delo North America Brand Manager. “Now with the transition to the latest generation of diesel engine oil, we want to spotlight people who have changed our world for the better.”

With the 120th anniversary of the game-changing invention of the diesel engine this year, Chevron will hit the road with Lisa Kelly of the History® Network’s Ice Road Truckers® for a three-month cross-country trip to get the word out about its game-changing HDEO technology—ISOSYN Advanced Technology—the proprietary difference behind the new Delo 400 product line and to meet folks who change the world every day.

Chevron is working with Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores for the nationwide road trip. The Delo Game Changer road trip kicks off with Lisa Kelly traveling across the U.S. and stopping at Love’s Travel Stops, where she will be joined at select locations by Captain Edgar Hansen of Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch to meet with fans, customers and local Game Changers. Local event attendees will have the opportunity to register for a chance to win a free oil change, or other prizes.

“Chevron has changed the game of heavy-duty engine oil, and working with them for their Delo Game Changers road trip gives us the opportunity to highlight local Game Changers who have been loyal Love’s customers for over 50 years,” said Dan Jensen, Director of Tire Sales and Service for Love’s Travel Stops. “To celebrate these folks, Love’s will be hosting 19 events all over the country, where customers can meet celebrity Game Changers and register to win a free oil change from our experienced diesel engine technicians.”

The tour will showcase celebrity Game Changers in a variety of industries to discuss the commonalities and characteristics that Game Changers share and who they think fits the mold. In addition to Lisa Kelly and Edgar Hansen, Dale Kitchens from the Edge of Farming, a web-based reality series, will also be featured during the tour.

“I like riding horses, racing motor-cross and driving trucks—it’s just what I do,” said Lisa Kelly, trucker and trailblazer. “When I took the job with Ice Road Truckers, just doing what I like to do, it never crossed my mind that I could affect anyone’s life but mine. Now I meet female truck drivers all the time who tell me that they never considered driving a truck until they saw me on the show. They just didn’t consider driving a truck a job option. Then they watched the show and saw how cool it was. I was doing it, why not them?

“They tell me they gave it a shot and they loved it. I hear this all the time,” Kelly continued. “So many women may have missed the chance of finding the work they love. I’ve used Delo engine oil since I started driving. It’s the best. I know Delo will protect my truck no matter what, and knowing that gives me one less thing to worry about when driving the ice roads. Now that I’m working with Chevron, I love meeting all these women who may not have found their life’s dream had it not been for my work with Ice Road Truckers.”

“Growing up as a fisherman, I learned you get out of life what you put into it, and never be happy with the status quo, and that is what being a Game Changer is all about—constantly looking for a better way, pushing yourself and others to be their best,” said Edgar Hansen, fisherman and businessman. “As a fisherman for the past 25 years, it’s truly an honor to work with Chevron and share some of my experience and knowledge, so the next generation of Game Changers can be recognized for the amazing work they are doing in their industries.”
