On Aug 22-24, fuel logistics companies from across the nation gathered for Mansfield Oil Company’s 7th annual DeliveryOne Expo in Denver, Colo. With more than 350 attendees, over 60 sponsors and exhibitors and 25 speakers, this year’s expo was the largest DeliveryOne Expo yet. Industry experts met to learn and exchange knowledge, paving the way for improvements in the fuel and transportation industry.
“We are always amazed and grateful that so many of our partners who service customers with us every day are willing to travel to Denver and spend so much time with us to both learn and to teach,” said Mansfield President Dough Haugh. “The D1Expo is the kind or relationship building and idea exchange that only happens in person and we are always excited to host such a great group of companies.”
This year saw a strong emphasis on fuel quality, including the kickoff of the Fuel Quality Counsel, composed of suppliers, engine manufacturers and end-users. The Fuel Quality Counsel’s mission is to serve as a voice for improving fuel quality to keep pace with evolving engine requirements.
“We are hearing more and more about the importance of diesel fuel quality with the Tier 4 high compression rail engines which are on all heavy duty trucks now,” said Andy Austin, Mansfield’s Senior Vice President, Specialty Products. “There are very tight tolerances with the injectors to where any deposits are going to cause failures or substandard performance.”
Besides fuel quality, some of the many topics covered during the expo were crude oil market trends, fuel consumption forecasts and breakout sessions covering transportation safety, DEF logistics, and fuel additives. Ron White, memory expert and former US memory champion, taught guests practical techniques to help them improve their memory and remember more names.
J.R. Aloise, President of Rastall Oil South offered the following feedback: Gentlemen I just want to thank you all for the hospitality at this year’s D1 Expo. The Expo just seems to get better every year, also I want to say thanks for the partnership awards it really makes us feel appreciated for the work we do together.
