The salty snacks category showed disappointing pandemic-induced trends in 2020, but with store traffic normalizing and new flavors and packaging options emerging, is that enough for a rebound? The NACS State of the Industry (SOI) Summit will answer this question and more during category presentations based on exclusive and early data from the convenience retail industry’s premier benchmarking tool, the NACS State of the Industry Report®.

Convenience retailers will have early access to 2021 convenience industry data at this year’s summit, being held live and in person April 12-14 in Chicago. These data are what drives the NACS State of the Industry Report®, which offers exclusive industry information not available anywhere else.

Other presentations at the summit will include foodservice, beer/wine/spirits, packaged beverages, tobacco and private labels—a hot topic, with 80% of consumers actively looking for ways to cut costs by buying private-label brands and less expensive products, according to a recent survey.

The Technology Solutions Center at the 2022 NACS SOI Summit will provide attendees an opportunity to explore critical customer, employee and back-office technology solutions that are transforming convenience retail. Vendors with solutions across labor, loyalty, self-checkout and more will be exhibiting the latest in applications that can unlock the insights and efficiencies that today’s competitive landscape requires.

For 2022, NACS has added a powerful new pre-summit session that takes insights and collaboration to a new level. Held on Tuesday, April 12, the SOI Summit Retailer Strategy Session will offer suppliers a unique opportunity to hear directly from six of the industry’s leading retailers in a closed, supplier-only format. Leadership from some of the industry’s most dynamic retailers will share their strategic initiatives and priorities and address supplier-generated topics in the intimate session. Registered attendees will provide topics via a pre-event survey.

The SOI Summit Retailer Strategy Session will be closed to external media and other retailers, assuring the insights and transparent dialogue are clear and actionable. Separate registration is required for the event at $399 per person. It’s open to supplier members only, with a limit of two seats per member company. Attendees must be registered for the NACS SOI Summit to participate in this pre-event add-on opportunity.

Whether you are a convenience retailer, a manufacturer or supplier, the NACS SOI Summit and the NACS SOI Report position you to use data-driven benchmarking to improve your business strategies and outcomes. Register today.
