Lisa King has joined NACS as managing editor.

King will oversee NACS Magazine and Fuels Market News, among other editorial and content project management roles.

King joins NACS from Montgomery County, Maryland, Public Schools, where she served as a paraeducator and substitute teacher. Previously, King was a writer and editor at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), covering IIHS research and congressional hearings related to transportation, motor vehicles and drivers. She also has served as a managing editor for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (now known as FARE) and a senior publications coordinator for Aspen Systems/Lockheed Martin at the U.S. Department of Justice. King’s international experience includes two years as an English teacher in Japan and a stint as a typesetter in the publications department at the University of London in England.

King holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, with a concentration in journalism, from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also completed community emergency response training through The George Washington University, which she used to provide assistance with Red Cross Disaster Relief in Gulfport, Mississippi, following Hurricane Katrina.
