Ed Hochuli, arguably the most recognizable and respected on-field official in the National Football League (NFL), will deliver the Industry Luncheon keynote address at M-PACT 2016, the premier energy and convenience tradeshow in the Midwest. The regional show, which annually draws nearly 4,500 energy and convenience professionals to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, will take place March 22-24, 2016. The keynote luncheon featuring Hochuli is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

With an NFL officiating career spanning over a quarter century, Hochuli is known as much for his noticeably athletic and muscular physique as he is for the verbose yet easily comprehensible manner in which he explains on-field rulings. In a 2008 ESPN NFL head coaches’ poll, Hochuli tied fellow referee Mike Carey for “Best Referee.” He has served as the head of the NFL Referees’ Association, and has officiated more than 250 games, including two Super Bowls.

Hochuli’s keynote presentation, “Is This Pop Warner or the Super Bowl? The Average Joe Principle,” will take attendees through his career, from officiating eight-year-olds on the football field for a crowd of 50 protective, opinionated parents to refereeing a Super Bowl in front of an audience of more than 350 million avid and outspoken football fans. With an engaging and inspirational approach, Hochuli shares how the lessons he has learned in the high-pressure work environments on the football field can be applied to any professional situation. He casts aside the assumption that most people are ‘just average’ and provides actionable steps that can be applied in any real-world setting to achieve business and professional success.

“Hochuli’s experience navigating some of the strongest personalities in professional football, while remaining calm under pressure, provides him a unique perspective on the skills and expertise it takes to excel in a demanding work environment. This is sure to resonate with our audience of entrepreneurs and businesses leaders from across the dynamic energy and convenience sector who work every day in a time-sensitive, rules- and regulation-driven industry,” said Scot Imus, Executive Director of the Indiana Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (IPCA), a co-host of M-PACT 2016. “His message, equal parts inspiration and motivation, elevates the value of the M-PACT Show as the can’t-miss energy and convenience industry event in the Midwest.”

The Industry Luncheon and Keynote event is a ticketed event open to attendees and exhibitors. Admission to the luncheon is not included in the price of registration.
