The HHS has announced the total FY2014 LIHEAP funds that will be released under the Continuing Resolution apportionment. LIHEAP is the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Overall, HHS released $2.9 billion in regular block grant funding, which represents 90 percent of the FY2013 funding.   The final appropriations funding level will be provided once Congress finishes their budget conference.

The Campaign and its supporters in Congress have called for at least $4.7 billion earlier this year.  So far, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed their bill with $3.6 billion, an increase over the $3.25 billion that was provided last year after the sequestration reduction.
