Visa is hosting a webinar, “Skimming and Fraud Protection for Petroleum Merchants” on November 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. ET, the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA) announced.
Card-skimming schemes and the use of fraudulent cards at automated fuel dispensers (AFTs) are an ongoing challenge for the petroleum industry, the association noted in its Nov. 1 Weekly Review.
The webinar is designed to inform petroleum merchants of skimming trends and share best practices for investigation and incident response. The following topics will be covered:
- How fraud is monitored across the VISA network
- Ways Visa can be a resource for merchants
- EMV standards, hardware and triple data encryption standards
- Techniques to better defend businesses and customers from fraud
