The EPA expanded the definition of heating oil in a final Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) rule by allowing all fuel oils that are used to generate heat for homes, businesses and recreation to generate Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs), reports the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA).
“This is welcome news to petroleum marketers who participate in the biodiesel RIN market and will expand the use of BioHeat,” PMAA says in the Sept. 27 issue of its Weekly Review.
