DM2 Software, Inc., a leading provider of business-management software solutions for petroleum marketers, has announced the latest release of its Petroleum Insights complete accounting, enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management system.

DM2’s new release is especially noteworthy for two reasons. The first is that this new release is 100 percent compatible with the data file structure of Sage’s new Business Object Framework programming architecture. This major architectural change gives DM2 customers the option of continuing to use ProvideX (included with Sage 100 ERP Standard or Advanced-based Petroleum Insights systems) or upgrading to the Sage 100 ERP Premium-based version of Petroleum Insights and using the Microsoft® SQL Server data platform for their system’s database. No stranger to SQL Server applications, DM2 has been developing and supporting SQL Server-based applications for the convenience store industry as well as business intelligence reporting and customer relationship management for nearly a decade.

Secondly, the new Framework architecture also gives DM2 customers the ability to use Sage’s Customizer module on all of their Petroleum Insights system tables and most of their user interface menus and screens. In addition, DM2 customers will be able to create multiple report settings, user defined fields and tables and customizable grids. And, since all reports are now Crystal-based, every report can be easily modified to meet customers’ specific needs.
