Chris Newton informed the Board of Directors of his intention to resign as president of the Texas Food & Fuel Association, effective December 31, 2015. Newton has accepted an offer from the Texas Apartment Association to become their new Executive Vice President (EVP).

“This was an extremely difficult decision to make, but at the end of the day I believe it is what’s best for me and my family at this stage of my career. I’ve shared with the staff and leadership of the association my commitment to ensure the transition to a new president is as smooth and seamless as possible,” Newton said. “It has been an honor and privilege to be associated with this organization. I will always be indebted for the professional and personal opportunities that have come my way as a result of my relationship with the members of this organization. I wish everyone the best and look forward to our paths crossing in the future.”

“We are grateful for Chris’ leadership and contributions to the organization over the past 19 years” said Rick Golman, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “We wish Chris the very best in the next phase of his career.”

Members of the Texas Food & Fuel Association Board of Directors, led by Chairman Golman, will soon meet to form a transition team to guide the search for a new president. Updates will be provided to the membership as details are finalized.
