The mission of Fuel Marketer News (FMN) is to provide the marketer/distributor with a range of useful information focused mainly, but not exclusively, on the incredibly important fuel products that our industry distributes. One specific component of the information we focus on is fuel pricing, which is undergoing some exciting developments. We are bringing out wholesale price data for the same 10 metropolitan markets we currently cover with retail data, and similarly making localized rack city price information available as well.
FREE Retail and Wholesale Data
As you should be aware, EPIC News+Data, FMN’s parent company, created a comprehensive Retail Price Index covering the 10 primary metropolitan markets, and the EPIC Retail Price Fuel Gauge, which allows a marketer to drill down beyond those markets and get localized fuel price data. By using these tools, you can examine retail prices and averages, and gain transparency from lows, highs and averages. You can assess margins and adjust prices accordingly. As always, we will continue to expand the depth and quality of our already effective retail price information.
However, that was only the beginning. In coming weeks we will being offering wholesale data on the same metropolitan markets covered with the retail, and localized rack city price information to complement the retail data. This will encompass over 400 metropolitan markets and 1,000 terminals. It’s our intention to provide this retail and wholesale data for FREE to our readers; however, in the future we might ask for a simple and painless registration process to let us know more about our audience and its specific needs.

NOTE: A select group of our audience will begin receiving a trial version of the daily newsletter for your opinions and feedback before we make it available to our general audience.
Website Adjustments
To coincide with the launch of the Daily Pricing Newsletter, we will be centralizing our free retail and wholesale pricing data applications on a specific page: Fuel Pricing. We will also begin providing enhanced general coverage of price-specific issues. The Fuels and Supply page will still provide more generalized data on what’s happening with the fuel products throughout the United States and internationally. So, if you or your fuel buyer currently go to the home page to check out this data, please keep the upcoming change in mind.
