The American Petroleum Institute (API) released the following statement from Vice President of Upstream Policy Holly Hopkins following the Department of the Interior’s announcement to take steps to expand opportunities for exploration and development in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPR-A) and the Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

“API welcomes the administration’s efforts to fully leverage Alaska’s enormous resource base as a driver of revenue, economic growth and energy security. This is an important step to break down barriers to safe development, and we look forward to working with Secretary Burgum to advance American energy dominance.”
