Suburban Propane Partners, L.P., a nationwide distributor of propane, renewable propane, renewable natural gas, fuel oil and related products and services, as well as a marketer of natural gas and electricity and investor in low carbon fuel alternatives, marked Earth Month with a series of clean up initiatives across the nation. These initiatives focused on cleaning up and beautifying beachfronts, parks, open spaces, and more.
The cleanups are part of the Company’s Go Green with Suburban Propane initiative, emphasizing its dedication to promoting propane as a clean-burning fuel and its commitment to a sustainable, zero-carbon energy future. More than 60 Suburban Propane employees, joined by family and friends, collectively volunteered in their communities throughout the month.
“Our employees are dedicated to making a positive impact on our communities through our SuburbanCares and Go Green initiatives,” said Nandini Sankara, Spokesperson for Suburban Propane. “Their efforts, in honor of Earth Month and beyond, demonstrate our commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.”
- Brevard, NC, volunteers from Suburban Propane’s local customer service center (CSC) partnered with representatives from the City of Brevard’s Adopt-a-Green Space Program to clean and restore the garden at Tannery Skate Park.
- Coventry, RI, Suburban Propane volunteers joined representatives from the Coventry Department of Public Works for a street cleanup event to help restore and beautify the area surrounding Flat River Road in Coventry.
- Detroit West, MI, Suburban Propane volunteers partnered with representatives from the State of Michigan’s Island Lake Recreation to clean up trash, beautify the beach, and open areas surrounding Island Lake Park.
- Eugene, OR, Suburban Propane volunteers joined representatives from the City of Eugene Parks and Open Space for a park cleanup event to remove litter along the river of Maurie Jacobs Park.
- Fort Myers, FL, Suburban Propane volunteers coordinated with representatives from the City of Fort Myers to beautify a stretch of highway, clearing trash and litter on State Route 41, north of the river.
- Laramie, WY, Suburban Propane volunteers joined representatives from the City of Laramie and Feeding Laramie Valley (FLV) to help prepare their community gardens for the season through various farming activities such as spreading mulch and turning compost. These gardens serve as a source of nourishment for residents in need within the vicinity, distributing more than 30,000 pounds of locally grown, nutritious produce each year.
- Phoenix, NY, Suburban Propane volunteers teamed up with the Village of Phoenix to organize a community street and sidewalk cleaning initiative. Volunteers worked together to remove litter and waste along a stretch of Route 57.
- Susquehanna Valley, PA, Suburban Propane volunteers joined representatives from the Montgomery House Library for a library cleanup where they shelved and organized books, dusted and wiped surfaces, and assisted with making minor repairs.
