Kevin McKinney, president of McKinney Petroleum Equipment, Mobile, Ala., has been elected by the members of the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) to serve as president of the organization.

McKinney has most recently served as PEI’s vice president. He was elected during the Institute’s 64th annual convention and trade show in Las Vegas, and will take office Jan. 1, 2015.

McKinney has served as the president of McKinney Petroleum Equipment since 2004. Founded in 1933, McKinney Petroleum Equipment is a distributor of petroleum and industrial equipment with a marketing area that includes Alabama, the Florida panhandle and southeast Mississippi. McKinney Petroleum Equipment represents more than 50 manufacturers of equipment used in petroleum marketing. McKinney has served on the PEI Board of Directors and is a current member of the Commonwealth 10-Group.

McKinney replaces Phil Farrell, president of Double Check Company, Inc., Kansas City, Mo., as president of PEI.

“Kevin has been an active advocate for the Petroleum Equipment Institute and its activities for many years and, as such, will make a great president,” said Robert Renkes, PEI’s Executive Vice President. “We look forward to welcoming Kevin to his new position and are convinced that his time as president will provide long-term benefits for PEI and its member companies.”

Steve Trabilsy, president of Accurate Tank Technologies, North Aurora, Illinois, has been elected by the members of the Petroleum Equipment Institute to serve as vice president of the organization, and Craig Hoyer, president of Kubat Equipment and Service Co., has been appointed PEI’s treasurer by the association’s Board of Directors.

Trabilsy most recently served as PEI’s treasurer and was elected during the Institute’s 64th annual convention and trade show in Las Vegas. Trabilsy will take office Jan. 1, 2015. Hoyer assumes office immediately.

Trabilsy has served as the president of Accurate Tank Technologies since 2006. Founded in 1989, Accurate Tank Technologies provides installation, maintenance and compliance testing of underground and aboveground tanks, piping and dispensing equipment for commercial and retail fueling facilities and operates in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Trabilsy has served on the PEI Board of Directors, the PEI Convention/Education Committee and is a current member of the Continental 10-Group.

Hoyer is the president of Denver-based Kubat Equipment and Service Co. Founded in 1949, Kubat Equipment and Service Co. is a sales, service, and installation company for the petroleum, automotive and industrial markets in Colorado and Wyoming. Hoyer is a former member of the PEI Young Executives and has served on the PEI Board of Directors, the PEI Convention/Education Committee and is a current member of the Pioneer 10-Group.
