MANSFIELD ENERGY CORPORATIONMansfield Oil held the 27th Annual Mansfield Oil Golf Classic on June 11th and raised over $500,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), a record for this event. The Annual Mansfield Oil Golf Classic is the largest MDA golf tournament in the U.S., and since its inception 27 years ago, the event has raised a collective $3.7 million for the fight against neuromuscular disease. This year’s event hosted over 400 golfers at Reynolds Plantation at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA.

“We are so pleased with the success of this year’s event,” said J. Alexander, President, Mansfield Energy Corp. “Being able to spend time with kids like Bryson Foster makes it one of the most rewarding times of the year for me. I know our employees walk away charged up about being able to help these kids that are in a heartbreaking situation but who inspire you with their attitude and spirit.”

“Over the past 27 years, Mansfield Oil has raised over $3.7 million dollars for MDA’s research and service program. The $500,000 raised by this year’s tournament makes the event the largest golf event for MDA in the country. As research aimed at treatments and cures accelerates, all of Mansfield associates and business partners should take pride in the tremendous impact their support is making. We are very grateful for their commitment and the hope they are bringing to so many,” said Meg Hodges, Division Vice President-East Central States, Muscular Dystrophy Association.

UPS was the golf tournament’s VIP Reception and Title Sponsor and hosted a reception at the Ritz Carlton hotel with nearly 300 guests in attendance. Russ Spencer, lead anchor for FOX 5 News Atlanta, was the emcee at the reception. Highlights of the VIP reception included speed painter, Tim Decker, who painted three masterpieces that were auctioned at the reception and comedy hypnotist Erick Känd entertained guests with a comedic hypnotist act. Bryson Foster, MDA’s National Goodwill Ambassador, spoke to the crowd about the significance the event’s fundraising has made in the search to find a cure for neuromuscular disease. At the age of five, Bryson was diagnosed as having Duchenne muscular dystrophy, one of the 40+ diseases that MDA covers.
